The self-proclaimed "Great Sage of the Chaotic Sky" (混天大圣 hùn tiān dà shèng), Roc¹ Demon King, is one of the Seven Great Sages (七大圣 qī dà shèng) from the Journey to the West (西游记 xī yóu jì) - seven sworn brothers, each more powerful than the next. The other six include: 

• The Monkey King (孙悟空 sūn wù kōng)
• Bull-Demon King (牛魔王 niú mó wáng)
• Saurian Demon King (蛟魔王 jiāo mó wáng)
• Lion Spirit King (狮狔王 shī nǐ wáng)
• Macaque Spirit King (猕猴王 mí hóu wáng)
• Snub-nosed monkey Spirit King (禺狨王 yú róng wáng)

¹ The English translation of his name is not accurate. The "Roc" is an enormous legendary bird of prey from Middle East mythology. The character 鹏 (péng) represents a giant bird from Chinese mythology known as the Da Peng Niao (大鹏鸟 dà péng niǎo). And though there might be some historical connection between these two mythological birds, given common physical attributes, the two should not be confused.
